Megyn Kelly’s lawyer, NBC boss feud over leaking accusations

It’s getting personal between Megyn Kelly’s lawyer Bryan Freedman and NBC News boss Andy Lack, after Freedman called out Lack by name in a statement on Kelly’s negotiations with the network.

Now, both camps are accusing the other of leaking.

Freedman issued a statement Tuesday after reports claimed that Kelly’s looking to walk away with more money than is owed on her contract: “Out of respect for the discussions, I am not going to share more details but any suggestion that Megyn is looking for more than her contract is untrue. This is clearly planted by NBC News to continue its mission to harm Megyn and gain some sort of leverage. It won’t work. Andy Lack needs to stop.”

NBC declined to comment.

But an insider fired back: “That’s delusional, her attorney should look inside his camp for any leaks about the discussions.”

The source further told Page Six: “These are desperate attempts to distract from the main issue: Her offensive comments on live TV about blackface.”

Kelly’s been in limbo since Friday when NBC canceled her 9 a.m. show, but she remains an employee, for now.

Some reports have also speculated that Kelly’s reluctant to sign a non-disclosure and non-disparagement agreement.

She’s halfway through a three-year, $69 million deal.

Last week, Lack told NBC staff in a meeting after Kelly’s controversial comments on blackface, “There is no other way to put this, but I condemn those remarks. There is no place on our air or in this workplace for them. Very unfortunate.”
