As if the O.C. crew was going to let those New Jersey goons steal the spotlight: one of them goes to the clink, so does one of theirs.

Which is just one of the reasons why Real Housewife of O.C. Tamra Barney‘s estranged husband remains in police custody on $10,000 bond.

The other reason is alleged domestic violence.

The Orange Country Sheriff’s Department confirms to E! News that Simon Barney was arrested last night on suspicion of the offense, though on-the-record details of the altercation remain under wraps.

“We got the call at about 8:45,” a spokesman told E! News. “He was booked around 1:30.”

According to RadarOnline, Simon, who is in the midst of a divorce from Tamra, turned up at his ex’s house last night, ostensibly to return her dog. An argument ensued, leading the reality star to call for backup.

Simon remains in police custody.

In the meantime, Barney’s costars aren’t slacking in their off-screen drama, either, as E! News confirms that Gretchen Rossi was served with a lawsuit by her ex beau Jay Photoglou over the weekend. The drama took place at the home of new O.C. castmate Peggy Tanous and—surprise!—was caught on camera by the Bravo film crew.

Get ready for a very special episode.

Photoglou is suing Rossi for libel and slander among other equally character-assassinating claims, while she also has an active lawsuit against him.

“I don’t think it’s a scorned lover thing,” Photoglou’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, told E! News of the suit, which was sparked by his depiction on the reality show.

“Jay wants his career back. It made him look like a liar, it made him look like a fool and made him look like an idiot, made him look like a person who makes things up. She went on national TV and called him a liar and stalker and said he made unwanted sexual advances at her said, ‘We never had a sexual or love relationship.’

“He has suffered financially and wants to use the court system and build back his reputation and let the world know he did not lie. He’s not a liar and he’s a trustworthy person and their relationship was a relationship.”
