Agent Omar Wilkes to be Klutch Sports’ head of basketball, allowing Rich Paul to expand reach

Prominent NBA agent Omar Wilkes has agreed to become the head of basketball for Klutch Sports, clearing the way for Rich Paul to expand his scope as the company’s CEO, sources told ESPN.

Klutch’s basketball division includes All-Star clients such as LeBron JamesAnthony DavisBen Simmons and Draymond Green, among others.

Wilkes has been an agent with Octagon for eight years, where his clients include Atlanta‘s Trae Young and Cam ReddishToronto‘s OG Anunoby and potential No. 1 overall pick Anthony Edwards of Georgia.

Paul will continue to work closely with Klutch’s clients and recruiting efforts in basketball, sources said. The hiring of Wilkes to strengthen Klutch’s basketball division allows Paul more freedom to expand his duties overseeing burgeoning divisions in the NFL and MLB.

Wilkes has a significant industry pedigree, including a college basketball career at Kansas and Cal. His father, Jamaal, is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

UTA made a significant investment last July in Klutch Sports, which has grown a sizable group of NFL and MLB clients.
