Perez Hilton Retaliates Against Sony BMG Claim For Posting Britney Tunes

Months after the settlement of his copyright dispute with the X17 paparazzi agency, blogger Perez Hilton isn’t taking too kindly to being accused of infringement. On his popular website, Hilton says he won’t promote Sony BMG artists in retaliation for a lawsuit accusing him of posting unreleased Britney Spears tracks.

“We KNOW that our support can help their artists, some of our favorites, immensely,” Hilton recently blogged. “We hope alienating us was worth it for Sony BMG!”

The self-styled queen of gossip announced Tori Amos, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, The Gossip, Adele, Lil’ Mama, Pink, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Whitney Houston are all “dead” to him.

Here’s the original complaint filed last October against Hilton by Sony BMG label Zomba.

In January, Hilton and his lawyer Bryan Freedman at Freedman & Taitelman, asked the court to dismiss the suit, citing failure to state a proper claim, fair use, lack of standing, authorization, invalid copyright registration, and several other affirmative defenses.

A jury trial has been scheduled for next October.
